CONSTANCE 'CONNIE' M. SANDS

Connie Sands, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Lower Keys Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 31, 1926, in Key West, Fla., to the late Gerald H. Adams Sr. and Helena G. (Haskins) Adams. She lived her entire life here in Key West. She married W. Leon Sands and they shared a wonderful married life of 61 years. Leon preceded her on May 12, 2009.

Connie helped her husband Leon with bookkeeping in his real estate business. She was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Gerald Hastings Adams. Surviving is her niece, Donna Adams (Eugene) Selby, nephew, Jim Felton, and great-nieces and -nephews, caregiver Pam Thompson and many family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in the Key West City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church Saturday 9 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
