KEY WEST — The Key West Lady Conchs 10-and-Under softball team found success at home against a very familiar opponent last weekend in the Softball in Paradise.

The U10 Lady Conchs won their division in the rubber match against the Key West Baseball Academy’s Conch Town as the pair split in the first two games.

The Lady Conchs took the title against Conch Town in the finale.

The 12-and-Under Lady Conchs fared well in the 12U B Division, but fell in the semifinal game. Thus far this season, the 12U team is 12-0 against teams in their class. They now have the No. 1 USSSA Power Ranking in the United States.

The Lady Conchs U8 and U14 teams, along with Conchs Town, traveled to Boca Raton this weekend for the Father’s Day tournament.

Conch Town finished in second place and moved up in the standings to 15th in Florida for 10U B action over the travel season.

Gilday pitched 18 innings, struck out 28 batters. Dunn went 7-for-12 with five singles, a triple and a homer over five games.

U10 DIVISION

LADY CONCHS 5

Conch Town held off the Lady Conchs’ two-run rally with the tying run on third to capture the victory.

Alexandra Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Lindsey Koppal slugged a two-run double and Shylo Sanchez added a base hit to power Conch Town at the plate. Chloe Gilday and Dakota Coleman drew two walks apiece and Kya Dunn and Maicey Malgrat each walked to get onboard.

Gilday fanned six, walked three and gave up six hits for the win.

The Lady Conchs’ Neveah Arnold ripped a trio of base hits, Annabel Hamilton nailed a two-run double, Skylar Barras singled home a runner as Mila Graves and Allisan Bendall both had a base hit.

Arnold pitched the entire game. She fanned four and walked five.

Kya Dunn homered inside-the-park and singled to lead Conch Town at the plate. Chloe Gilday doubled as Brianna Nodal, Shylo Sanchez and Maicey Malgrat each had a walk.

The Stingrays defense held the Lady Conchs to just two base hits. Neveah Arnold tripled and Allisan Bendall singled.

Mila Graves pitched her first complete game. She struck out two, walked 10.

QUARTERFINALS

The Lady Conchs scored all eight runs in second inning and held on for the win. Neveah Arnold tripled and drove in two runs. Mila Graves doubled and singled twice with an RBI, Julene Vega and Skylar Barras each had an RBI single and Annabel Hamilton added a base hit.

Arnold struck out four and walked eight for the win against hometown rival Conch Town.

For Conch Town, Alexandra Rodriguez doubled and singled for two RBI, Tavyn Gage and Chloe Gilday each drilled an RBI triple and Kya Dunn singled twice.

Lindsey Koppal, Brianna Nodal and Shylo Sanchez each walked twice. Maicey Malgrat got a free pass via a base on balls.

Gilday had five strikeouts, three walks and she yielded five base hits by the Lady Conchs.

With the win the quarter finals on Saturday, the Lady Conchs began the day in the winner’s bracket on Sunday.

Mila Graves and Neveah Arnold both singled and scored a run, Annabel Hamilton drove in a run on a sacrifice and Allisan Bendall scored a run.

Arnold led the way from the mound pitching a no hitter with four Ks and five base on balls over four innings.

ELIMINATION GAME

CONCH TOWN 6,

Dakota Coleman crushed a game-winning two-run double in the last inning to advance Conch Town to the championship game.

Coleman doubled twice, Brianna Nodal and Kya Dunn each singled twice, Chloe Gilday singled home a run and Shylo Sanchez added a base hit.

Gilday pitched four innings, fanned six and walked two.

CHAMPIONSHIP

LADY CONCHS 15,

In a rematch of the tournament opener, the Lady Conchs belted 12 hits on their way to the win and the title.

Skyler Barras doubled and singled twice for three RBI, Neveah Arnold drove in two runs via a two-base hit and a base hit. Annabel Hamilton (2 RBI), Allisan Bendall (1 RBI) and Mila Graves gapped two hits each. Gabi Ruiz, Danielle Scali and Catherine Van Staden each drilled an RBI base hit.

Graves and Arnold combined to strike out four and they walked four on the mound.

Conch Town’s Dakota Coleman nailed a two-run double, Kya Dunn tripled and Chloe Gilday added a base hit.

Gilday pitched the full game, with two strikeouts, walked none, and gave up 10 hits.

U12 DIVISION

Lady Conchs 10,

Winter Springs Hatters Gold 3

Key West gave up two runs in the first but they scored five in the second on their way to victory against the Orlando-area Hatters Gold.

Ty Cervantes drove in three runs on a pair of doubles and Savanna Delph singled twice and scored both times onboard. Madeline Marciniak drove in two runs via a two-base hit and a base hit, Emily Bracher and Dharma Murray each had a two-run single, Madelyn Perusse singled home a run as Cheyenne Carr, Marina Goins and Madison Gonzalez each lined a base hit. Caroline Smith scored twice and Isabella Franco and Montunique Van Staden came around to score for the Lady Conchs.

Madison Gonzales and Marina Goins shared pitching duties combining to scatter six hits over five innings of work on the mound.

LADY CONCHS 16,

PALM BEACH LADY GATORS 6

Madison Gonzalez tripled twice and singled to plate four runs to power the Lady Conchs’ 13-hit attack.

Marina Goins cleared the bags on a double, Isabella Franco, Dharma Murray and Emily Bracher each had two hits for multiple RBI. Savana Delph had an RBI double and she singled. Cheyenne Carr smacked an RBI single, while Ty Cervantes scored twice and Madeline Marciniak, Montunique Van Staden and Caroline Smith all crossed the plate for the Lady Conchs.

Marciniak started on the mound for Key West striking out three and Gonzales closed the game out in relief for the victory.

PEMBROKE PINES THUNDER 2,

LADY CONCHS 1 

The Thunder came out on top in a game dominated by pitching. Key West’s Ty Cervantes and Marina Goins combined to limit the Thunder to five hits over five innings as Goins fanned four. Key West’s lone run came off a Savanna Delph home run over the leftfield fence. Goins, Isabella Franco, Madison Gonzalez, Dharma Murray and Madeline Marciniak all had base hits in the game.

LADY CONCHS 4,

MIAMI STINGRAYS 1

The Lady Conchs scored twice in each of the first two innings and the defense held on for the win. Madison Gonzalez slammed a triple and a two-base hit good for an RBI. Savanna Delph ripped a two-base hit and a base hit and Marina Goins singled two times.

Caroline Smith, Ty Cervantes, Dharma Murray and Montunique Van Staden all singled.

Madison Gonzales tossed six strong innings on the mound for Key West. She stuck out five Stingray batters and yielded only one walk.

SEMIFINAL

WINTER SPRINGS HATTERS GOLD 14,

LADY CONCHS 2

The Lady Conchs could not take the Hatters a second time for their semifinal match on Sunday. Emily Bracher doubled, Dharma Murray had an RBI single and Marina Goins and Savanna Delph ripped base hits for the Lady Conchs in the elimination game.
