TWAB never voted for city amphitheater

In regard to the comments about the amphitheater and, just for the record, when you refer to the “governing board,” I could be wrong, but I’m guessing you mean the Truman Waterfront Advisory Board.
FYI, the Advisory Board never voted for the amphitheater, we just discussed it and voiced concerns after a presentation by city staff at our meeting. Some members would have liked more of a simple bandshell-type look (although the new design loosely resembles a bandshell), but were glad that the original landscape-dominating amphitheater design was eliminated.
At the same time, the cost was reduced from around $7 million to the $4-million range, with half of the $4 million cost taken care of with Tourist Development Council bed-tax funds.
