Vandenberg to arrive in mid-April

Artificial reef must be scuttled before hurricane season begins

While work crews in Norfolk, Va., remove paint chips and other contaminants from the 525-foot Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg, local dive shops are preparing for what one shop owner called "a whole new realm of diving."

Sucking dollars

You folks must have had the dollars to give. They got them didn't they? What else could have done with the tens of millions of dollars this project has sucked up that would benefit the taxpayers? People are working so hard to exist that they can't see the stealing going on. Wake up folks before the City is bankrupt again like in the 30s and almost again in the 70s.

Honestly, this has taken now 10 years. How many of those involved have now made a living off this project? One in particular started out promoting it, went to work with the company that does these big ship sinkings, and has lived very, very well off the Vandenburg which is totally at the taxpayers expense, it seems. What a mess it has been. I totally support a new wreck for Key West, but this has been a boondoggle and has done nothing but suck dollars off people who don't have it to give.
