Bubbas

Look into Cortex Corporation, Reverand/aka Mayor McPherson, Koenig, Hooper, Habitat for Humanity and a few more and you'll have this part of the Bubba puzzle involving just the School System....It's called "break the bank wide open, steal the money and run." For the FKAA Wastewater portion of the puzzle, look for the figures of David Rice and George Neugent up front with their wallets open. Then of course we have the Sheriff Office, again with Rice and his son Mike, and Scabilia and Ramsey, and now Trauma Star and Rice again, and Neugent.....OK move on to Keys Energy and look at their board....Just follow the money to our politicians with the most signs and the most ads and the best clothes and shoes.....and $300 sunglasses.

The problem is the corruption is so widespread

that the Law powers at hand are afraid to deal with it. If justice prevailed the ket west Economy would fall as well as its political structure. Its a mountain. Randy and his wife were so stupid that they went beyond keeping thier crimes hidden. They were on cloud nine and basically were saying F U to the rest of the world!

A scary thing!!

It's a shame that no one can be trusted.

good bye

see ya wouldn't want to be ya!!!! your both toast. hope you like bright orange and flip flops.

Funny even after a grand jury hands down a indictment

the Randy supporters are still out there denying his guilt. These people are true morons! Lets all go to Randy's house and wish him the best...in jail!!!!!

let's look at his acquitsions we paid for

thanks SA

Man, you said it.

It's all about the crooked lifestyle for these people. They have every intention of continuing their illegal activities, if they can. It's up to us to expose the Randy sympathizers since they're obviously going to be in on the illegal activities.

It is called greed

They have to learn a hard lesson and I feel bad for them. The lesson is called "Learning the Hard Way" Randy and Monique, you are learning the hard way, because you both were taught not to steal and not to lie! You both got caught up in greed and Bubba Conchs told you, "Don't worry we'll take care of you, you took care of us!" You knew in your heart what was right and you didn't listen to your heart. Do you realize now, you listened to Bubba Conchs instead of your heart? I hope your children grow from this horrible experience and listen to their heart! Turn states evidence, show the children you really do care about them, you could really make a difference. Make everybody accountable for their actions. Show the kids what is right and what is wrong!

Bubba Conchs

Why do all you fools think all locals (you call them "Bibba Conchs")approve/ support this culture of greed and lies? Remember , when you assume you make an "ass"of u and me. Ever hear of the "Good old boy network" ? Well, it's the same everywhere including your hometown. Locals rule everywhere, including Key West. Get alife and get off the locals you carpetbagger.

::yawn::

More of the same boring Bubba drivel. You Bubbas are doing all you can to try to split your honest Conch friends out onto your side. It's a very transparent move on your part. Just because every town has a 'good ole boy network' doesn't make it right. It's up to every town to clean up their own poop - and we're trying to clean up our big old Bubba poop here in Monroe County.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Randy weeee luv you darling u are still our hero. You are still inocent until they falsely judge you guilty. The Govenor is wrong! The Citizen is wrong! John Dick is wrong! Steve Prembranski is a fool. There are save randy jars all over key west. Give give give we need to hire a good lawyer!!! Save Conch culture. We may be pirates but at least we know what we are! Your all yankee carpet baggers. Obama come down and save the Acevedos! Key West bubba power. next time we will steal the money and you will never know it. Pooor Pooor Randy!!!!1

Getting pretty tired of the "Yankee carpet bagger" comments

I was born and raised in Florida and my families roots go back to the founding of St Augustine on my great grandmother's side with the Acosta's. A distant relative of mine was a member of the infamous "Pork Chop Gang" of crooked Florida state representatives in the late 1800s. Some of us are proud natives who have grown with the times. Real southerners don't "alledgedly" steal from ninth graders and handicapped children. We accept responsibility for our actions and try to improve on the redneck, bubba perception the rest of the nation has for the south. So, take your corrupt and criminal mind to some banana republic. Venezuela comes to mind. They don't mind a little graft in their politics.

Thank you! I too was born and raised in Florida

and my mom is a second generation Floridian. These 'Yankee' comments really just illustrate that the writer who uses them has no clue whatsoever about his/her own heritage. The actual, original Conchs came from the New England by way of the Bahamas. Can't get more 'Yankee' than that, can you?

I trusted Randy. Now I'm not

I trusted Randy. Now I'm not sure why. He's forgotten that it is about the kids. Whatever it takes...whatever.

Funny

Being a MCSD teacher myself, I've heard many teachers utter the following phrase in response to our leadership, "Student success...whatever.".

yeah yeah yeah

First the Berlin wall, now the Bubba wall. Dennis "Joshua" Ward keep blowing that horn

shhhhhhhh I'm hunting a bubba

Look we are hunting bubbas out of the MCSD any one to play the game. Target out. Time to fire them now. All themthat are relatives and friends of these two loosers.

poor poor randy

sounds like your a friend of his that just got his pocket pinched. you just admitted that you are a thief .let me find them jars i will dump them out into the ones for kids help

Maybe we should give you the address for the prisons

so you can write murderers and rapists. You might could marry one of them! Don't waste your time on Randy. He's small potatoes. Go for the real scum of the earth!

Nepotism

"Former superintendent Bookie Henriquez said the best thing the district can do is maintain the status quo." This guy is funny! Considering how well the status quo has been working for the district. Now we get to have this guys son as superintendent Mike Henriquez. If and when Randy is taken out or leaves.

C.A.P. awards

In other Acevedo news, did you hear that the GLCC and Key West Business Guild awarded Randy with some sort of youth leadership award Monday night. Talk about clueless. What were those people thinking?

How embarassing for them...

Ashame they would ignore the obvious activities and honor this man. I would have thought they would have their head out of the sand. Very sad...

why with the reward?

maybe yall felt sorry for him.

Definition of Superintendent

In education, a superintendent (also known as a chief school administrator in many states) is an individual who has executive oversight and administration rights, usually within an educational entity or organization. Public school superintendents are held responsible for their entire district, from elementary and middle school through high school (K-12). Responsibilities include: hiring practices, budgets and policies. Superintendents are required to be knowledgeable about law as it pertains to public schools, and be able to interpret laws wisely and correctly. Their responsibility is to protect their school districts from legitimate law suits, and serve as representative for his/her district if it is sued. It is his/her responsibility to answer for whatever caused the lawsuit, and fix it if it needs to be fixed. It is his/her responsibility to respond appropriately to media, including television and newspaper reporters. He/She should be skilled in communication and able to provide answers that are mindful of legal restrictions, honest, and that the public can understand. He/She is required to keep the local school board informed, to educate them about issues that pertain to their district, and to guide them when appropriate so they are able to make decisions that are good for their district while keeping the district out of trouble with any of many entities. At the same time they must be able to work with, listen to, and be responsive to their many different – and often opposing – ideas, agendas, and priorities. Many school superintendents began their careers as teachers in the classroom, then served as a building principal, and sometimes in a subordinate role in the central district office, before becoming a superintendent. However some local school boards select school superintendents from totally different backgrounds, usually from the military or business sectors, though this is not a common practice. (In some small towns like KW the people born and raised there, take priority over outsiders, it is not what you know, it is who you know! You can pull off anything if you have the right father, mother, sister, brother, husband, no education, no problem!) Most school superintendents have a Bachelor's degree in education and a Master's degree in school administration. Many also have a Doctorate in school administration, though not all do. All must hold special certification in their state and pass background checks with law enforcement agencies. (I guess he was thinking he was supposed to cause the lawsuits!) This is what happens when Bubba Conchs are running the show. I doubt any of this would have come out if it wasn't for outsiders, like John and Steve. No wonder they tried so hard to fight them, keep them from asking questions! Time to clean up the dirty little islands!

Dirty Little Island?

Best way to clean up this island is for all you snowbirds to go back home. The locals don't need or want you here. Oh yeah, lucky for us you outsiders saved us. Ha! What a Joke. You foreget that locals everywhere run the show, even in your hometown. Go back home where you will have priority over the outsiders and then they can ridicule you like you do the locals. What I don't understand is if you idiots hate it so much here, why did you come and why do you stay? There is nothing stopping you from leaving, I'll even help you pack. And take the Acevedo's, Henriquez's, the Fraga's with you. Not all locals support them, you idiot.

:::yawn:::

More of the same boring Bubba drivel. Now, you're invalidating your honest Conch stature by going back to the whole 'outsiders/snowbirds' attack.

Actual Florida Statute

838.022 Official misconduct.-- (1) It is unlawful for a public servant, with corrupt intent to obtain a benefit for any person or to cause harm to another, to: (a) Falsify, or cause another person to falsify, any official record or official document; (b) Conceal, cover up, destroy, mutilate, or alter any official record or official document or cause another person to perform such an act; or (c) Obstruct, delay, or prevent the communication of information relating to the commission of a felony that directly involves or affects the public agency or public entity served by the public servant.

That says it all. Now what about the Federal charges?

What about using Federal funds for election campaign? Wasn't Bookie and his son involved in that as well as Randy and Monique? Hello? FBI? Where are you when we need you?

Yes they were.

Your right they all have done wrong. Bring in the FBI Governor Chris.

Where's Monique?

At least Randy escorted Monique to jail, where was she when he went? Shopping at Ross? Wow!

Findind another Randy

She's out looking for a new man.

Is Walker a total idiot? Her comments really do not seem to

relate to the subject matter at hand. She's worried about divisiveness of the BOARD? She's one of the most divisive!!!! And what does a Superintendent have to do with divisiveness on the Board? The Superintendent's job is to run the district, follow procedure, and follow outlines and budgetary constraints set by the board. She's another one who won't make the cut come election time. She's shown that she's totally incapable of thinking in a forward manner when it comes to education and management. She's another with the mindset "Well, that's the way it's always been done so it must be ok." It's because of her, Mathewson and Griffiths that the school district has lost so much money. Dick and Pribramsky were on to this waste and questioning all of this a long, long time ago but they were overruled and outvoted at every turn by the School Board's 'Gang of Three'. They're as much to blame as Acevedo.

DENNIS WARD BREAKS RULES

Just like talking to a juror during a trial is against the rules, talking to the press about grand jury proceedings is also. Dennis may need to freshen up on the RULES ; )

The rules don't apply to Ward

Don't you understand that he is above the rules? They don't apply to him or his office. He doesn't have to play by the rules!

It's not about Ward

It's not about Ward

And your proof of that is, where?

Can you show us proof of that? I've not seen anything in any of the reporting that indicates the SA told the Citizen anything about the Grand Jury proceedings. Clearly, the reporter can sit out and see who goes in and who comes out. Pretty simple.

This is good news from our Gov.

Governor Charlie Crist’s Video Message June 11, 2009 The most important thing we can do in government is to protect our children. ....... We will do everything in our power to protect Florida’s children – there is no higher calling. Thank you and God bless. I do hope Gov. Crist will move forward quickly to replace Acevedo and start the healing process for our school district.

WARD'S OFFICE IS LEAKING INFORMATION

It is a crime to leak Grand Jury information, the press should not have known who was testifying or what they said. Let the hunt for indictments continue. If there is wrongdoing those responsible should be brought to justice. And while we are at it, Welch and McPhearson claimed they know about Monique's taking of Freshman money in the beginning of the year but neglected to disclose it until she was already in trouble. Their neglect to tell officials of Monique's thefts is an obstruction of justice which allowed Monique to continue her behavior for months before getting caught. Lets not stop cleaning the house at the front door, there are many others to go down with this sinking ship and the newspaper may want to think twice about putting anyone on a pedestal at this point.

Acevado jobs for hire

Well Randy / wife are jobless Mary Vanden Brook that lost the ELECTION maybe she will want apply for the Superintendent jobs! Maybe you can fix there mess you didn't do to good @ court administration.

Just the beginning

I hope that Gov. Crist steps up to the plate and finally removes Acevedo. The fact is I don't think that there are just 2 indivduals involved in this scandal either. This has most likely existed through many school administrations and "dipping " was just another typical bubba perk. After all if one is born and raised here it's only illegal if you get caught. Those of us that are not inbred truly hope that justice is done. Signed, 20th generation Swedish,Italian,African American

20th Generation?

I guess that makes you smarter or better than say a 19th generation? Give me a break. Stop insulting every local for the crimes of a few. We are not all crooks just as all you snowbirds are not all "gay", or are you ?

::yawn::

More of the same boring Bubba drivel. AND guess you can't see the mocking tone of the previous post, huh?

I think many people should

I think many people should be investigated in this town. Some of those who have abused the poor ones by purchasing properties in order to expand their wealth. These ones have used the system and their friends in their advantage. I know of someone who was taken to court because she did not want to sell the property to this high real estate guru. She lost her property to him. She could not fight the system. He ended up paying her litle by litle. He ruin her life economically.

Nepotism

How many Henriquez's are working downtown!

MCSD is not the only place with ism in the body!!

The MCSD is not the only place where there are ism in the body. The city of KW, FKAA, Keysenergy and KWHA just to name a few. KW is too small for all of this excess drama and sadly most people love the misery of others because it takes away the focus from them looking at the misery in their own lives. Now say what you want, but Randy has help alot of people, because I was one of those people he helped. And NO I am not a budda, cuz, aunt, uncle, sister or brother , I am not is his mother or father. I am a person that need help and he help me and my family. And NO, I don't make 100k per year, I make less than $18,000 w/o benefits, so no there are no kick backs for me for saying he only guilty by association.

Nepotism

Teachers have been getting underpaid with 2% token cost of living increases down here when these people swindle, waste and steel from our children's education. We need new blood in our school district. New board members and all. Next election do not vote for any incumbent any where or for anything. Do not vote your party affiliation. Vote for anyone that is not an incumbent. We need to rid this county of career politicians at all levels. They are destroying us from the inside.

im with this guy

im with this guy

Mr. Acevedo knew

He knew this is what was going to happen. This is why he appointed the people he wanted to appoint last week and fired the people who would not do corrupt things he asked them to do. Let us call it a goodbye gift. Hope the school board sees right through it. Mr. Mike Henriquez, you are now officially under the microscope. The next couple of months will make or break the rest of your career.
