Judge wants Monique in court to explain inability to pay

Monique Acevedo must appear in court before a judge will decide whether her attorney can drop her case, citing her inability to pay him.

Circuit Judge Mark Jones on Thursday rescheduled Acevedo's hearing for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Jones ordered Key West attorney Nathan Eden to bring Acevedo to his courtroom to answer questions about her finances. The...

Why are you letting these fatherless jerks put you out to take the brunt of these charges. We will listen Monique. We suspect you are a abused and tortured woman. Your own husband has a well paid attorney and you get sh/te. You get a greasy public defender. Monique stop being used and enslaved. Stand up for your self and proclaim your independence from these chauvanistic men! It's your time sista call NOW!

Jones shouldn't let Plead'em Edan off the hook

He misrepresented to the court the circumstance of Monique's appearance and then got her out without bail

Edan took a retainer and has made by his actions (and Ward's inactions) this case more difficult for the taxpayers to recoup the stolen school and MARC House funds

Time to cut his hourly and do what he does best ... trade away his client ... he was never going to take this to trial anyway

enough. [Allegedly] Robbing the school district. Covering it up. Making the taxpayers pay for her defense is adding insult to injury. Now, it would appear they're setting it up so that she will not make restitution. Those people are toast in this town. I can't imagine anyone but the hard-core Bubba bosses who'd have anything to do with any of them ever again. They might as well move to North Carolina where they've stashed the cash.
