Beer party crackdowns create headache for some

MONROE COUNTY -- Just past 1 a.m. on Saturday June 6, in response to a noise complaint, deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office walked in on a keg party in Key Largo. Three high school-age teens were there. So were four adults of legal drinking age. But the other 15 or so attendees were between ages 18 and 20, several of them college students home for the summer.

We need Sunny Booker she is a saving angel for our kids

Sunny we need more challenge days and we need another program to battle teen drinking and drug use! We need something done about teen sex and sexting! We need you Sunny to do something about these older boys having sex with 12 & 13 year old girls! This what we pay Sunny Booker to do! Save the children now!

They did do something about

They did do something about teen sex at the high school a few years ago, according to my son. They had an assembly, saw a video about sexually transmitted diseases and then condoms were passed out at the end of the assembly. The school nurse also said that if you needed more condoms, stop by her office to get them. Now, I am not opposed to the education of the students, but the availability of providing condoms is more enabling and to a certain extent, encouraging those that might have been hesitant to become "experimental", shall we say. Educate, yes. Instill proper values and morals, yes. To enable and encourage in wrongful behavior, definitely not.

Yeah, right... And the good

Yeah, right... And the good fairy will help her out along with the Wizard of Oz and maybe the tooth fairy if they're all not too busy. Many of these programs give these students more ideas and things to try than you think. If nothing else, these kids are told what the limits and punishment is if they are caught. A one day hug-fest or a 45 minute assembly once a year is not the answer. It takes constant and consistant education along with positive parent involvement.

"You can't" leads to "I will"

Keep it up guys, but be prepared for a breaking point.

Yes We Can!

I say catch any of them and put them on 6 months community service picking up used diapers from parking lots, cleaning the pet shelters, and have them go to the transfer stations and pick up loose trash and tidy up. They are disturbing working people and their parents don't care what they do obviously so we can make this work for everyones benefit I think.
