Is it possible that Cates and Morgan are friends? Is it possible that Morgan knows he has no shot at winning?Is it possible that since he knows that he has no shot of winning that he has cut a side deal with his friend Mr Cates?Is it possible that Morgan will appear to run right up until the election and then suddenly drop out? Is it possible that he is only tentatively running (for now) to make it less likely that a solid 3rd candidate would throw his hat in the ring against his "opponent"? Ok I think I know what is taking Crist so long. He is getting help from the Indians setting up "book" to take bets on if Acevedo will walk. All you guys will bet he won't and Charlie will take your money when he does and use it for his Senate bid. Randy will walk and get reinstated we will have a big parade and McPherson will proclaim June 30th Manny Acevedo day. This is the reason I love Key West yeah !!!!!

Everyone in the district knows that our emails can be read at anytime. We are reminded a few times a year, at least at my school in faculty meetings, to be careful what we discuss. Emails have been subpoenaed in the past for various reasons and we are all aware of that.

Maybe they weren't locked out for a reason. Maybe they already have the email records and want to catch them going back in trying to erase things. Then they could add more charges or open new doors and catch others involved. I find it hard to believe they are just now requesting these records. I think its a smokescreen and a good one at that.

guy. I've yet to talk to one single person in this town who doesn't feel that the criminal element must be taken down. Not one Conch has voiced support for any of the Acevedos. Not one.

There comes a time when there's a tipping point and perhaps we've reached it. Now perhaps we have more honest people in this town than crooks, so now we will be able to vote the crooks OUT across the board in all City and County positions. Jailing the criminal Acevedos will be just the encouragement that the voters need.

Morgan McPherson is running for Mayor and has done a great job and we should not hold him in anyway, shape or form accountable for anything his friends did. He is an honorable, hard working family man who has done nothing but good for the city of Key West. I keep hearing people are going to take out on him what his friends did and that is just not right. Okay, please act accordingly.

You posted this same thing yesterday, so I'll post the same response today:

Oh, PULEEZE! Honorable? He's going to screw the banks and the taxpayers (since they're bailout banks) with his foreclosures. That's honorable, right? I mean, why would a man and his wife borrow a million and a half on a couple of smallish properties, when he is a preacher but has no church, he's a realtor but has never sold a house, and he's making $10,000 a year? Have you ever stopped to question how he paid on them for the previous years? His wife is an assistant principal and no way can a couple with four kids pay that kind of mortgage money on her salary alone. Umm...maybe it's because he's been making money in other more nefarious and unethical ways such as graft and payoffs? Remember, his foreclosure showed up about the time his developer buddies such as Cay Clubs went under. And of course, he's still hawking for Spottswood. He keeps bringing up really stupid ideas such as rounding up our utility bills to give money to private daycare facilities while his parents are on record as owners of a private daycare facility. The ACLU is monitoring this very closely. Oh, and let's not forget his inane water park idea for someone who he would not name.

It wasn't that long ago that we saw his little push (along with DiGennaro) to take over the TDC to get bed tax money for his developer friends including Spottswood, (which failed.) Spottswood was also trying to seed the TDC at the same time, to gain possible votes for this takeover. They were seeking to divert funds illegally in that little endeavor.

Your attempts to portray him as having done a great job are absolutely pathetic and we're all onto him. Besides, one is known by the company he keeps. His hanging with Randy, sweating, drinking, smirking and cigar smoking pretty much says it all. We don't need that smarmy, waddling arrogance here any longer. It's time to purge the cancer from our City and County governments.

So, per your request, indeed, I will act accordingly. I'll do all I can to see that he is defeated soundly.

In re-reading your post, was that a threat? Act accordingly? Another Bubba-thug tactic?

I'm not a Conch but have lived here for 35 years. I will be voting for Craig Cates for mayor. I took my cars to him for repair for years. He's one of the most honest, nicest people down here.

How could he be thrown out of a BAR, he is a very Christian man, and a pastor? To make things up like this is dead wrong. His wife is also a very religious person and only does good for the community. She was named principal of Key West High only to have it taken away from her. This is a job she really deserves because she is the one who takes care of all the kids there anyhow. Why do all of you want to pick on the McPherson's? McPherson is a bigger crook than the Avocados. He has destroyed this town since he's been in office. Pretty soon this island will be one big condo with only the rich. The help can stay on Stock Island. He got 86 from a bar he frequent because he was so drunk and braggin on how he runs the town and no one can touch him. So don't try to feed me that bull. McPherson has been the mayor for 4 years. On this island of condo's how many of them were approved for building in that time span. Jimmy Weekly was the mayor when 90% of the condo's on this island were approved for building. So how exactly can you blame that on McPherson. You people will make up something just to rant. However, if he could have cut some of the F words, more people would watch it. I know, I know, we're all angry about the Acevedos, but let's not lower ourselves to Daddy Acevedo's level. Which, by the way, I'm still mad at Andy Griffiths for the way he handled the situation. He sounded brow beaten and meek in his weak chastising of Daddy's behavior. In all the school board meetings I've watched, NEVER have I seen U.S. veteran, John Dick or Steve P., speak rudely to anyone. Mr. Manny A. really showed his backside. And then all those buffoons who cheered. How childish! Actually, I know my children would behaved better than those high paying administrators. But then again, they are protecting their own bank accounts.

I have never seen such abusive behavior tolerated in a public meeting before. The cheering and clapping by those in the admin office just show the level of class we are dealing with. It's funny how they would rather berate John & Steve instead of dealing with the mess they have created. Sometimes I think Andy tolerates their rude behavior so it can take the focus off of him and his failure to act in trying to correct this.

R Acevedo learned his bully behavior from Daddy-Manny and MOnique felt that she could do anything she wanted because it's the whole entitlement attitude of the Bubba population. Makes you frightened about what we can see from the kids, based on what we've seen from two generations thus far. I don't think anyone feels sorry for the Sr. Acevedos now, after that low-class display. AND we all know the thieving attitudes of the Administration employees as well, if they support theft and this kind of filthy behavior. Criminals, one and all.

Or one of his former flunkies. If Randy has access to the servers and destroys evidence, that will be another good thing to charge him with. There are laws and state rules on retention of everything. If he did or had IT do it, then there will be IT people going on trial. And is the first poster really dumb or what? Ward does not make any decisions on who the police arrest. If the police see a crime, they make an arrest. They don't ask the SA first. If you want to be critical at least have a clue what you are talking about. Mr. Sandy Downs got arrested because he pissed off one of the biggest mouths in Monroe County. His WIFE! After the state attorney looks at the evidence, then we will see what the charges are at or get pleaded down to, but all in good time. Come on, yes Ward is new to this, but he has certainly not been coasting in his job and is learning fast. He also has a number of highly experienced assistants and staff. He didn't get rid of all of Kohl's stoogies. I will not and can not get into investigation strategies, but there was a very good reason to wait this long before going after email and phone records. Once you graduate from law school you might be able to figure it out. You must have graduated in Wade's class.

Cell Phone text is there forever, so I've heard. As far as the district eMails, I would hope the UT department at the schools has some off premise backup that can not be destroyed or corrupted. It would be normal to do this, most businesses do this everyday.

Why bother now, this confiscation of the computers whould have happened before the first word of the scandal and investigation was leaked, or shouted out, as it was in this case. All this grand standing by Ward in the papers has destoyed this case, and most likely, evidence. It's not that the "bubbas" were smarter, it's that Ward was dumber.

Randy's only background was in computer science so if he hasn't scrubbed the servers and trashed the email after all of Ward's foot dragging, he's dumber than he looks (is that possible?)

Ed Swift's Historic Tours of America has just given Randy a computer consulting contract so along with the Spottswoods security position, he's not doing too badly on his unpaid leave.

Will anyone ask why?

Mr Ward, do you really think that Randy didn't have access to the school safe???? We've seen these thugs at the school board meetings, how do you think they act behind the closed doors of the school administration building? How could you decide that evidence be left in school storage and school safes under Randy's charge?

I would be more interested in reviewing the purchase contracts for all of the millions in computer equipment purchased by the school district under our boarish Superintendent's hardware and software binge spending spree

Meanwhile, Ward is busting landscapers for cultivation equipment while this case spins wildly beyond his ability and control
