The school's Head Start classrooms would like to thank Miss Madok's Challenge classes for an exciting look into the Maurice Sendak classic, "Where the Wild Things Are."
They began the week with a reader's theater presentation of the book, complete with hand-created scenery, then worked for three days to create elaborate masks. Friday concluded the study of the book with a Wild Things "rumpus and feast."
Fall is a busy time at Gerald Adams. Third-, fourth-, and fifth-graders recently elected the 2009-20010 Student Council officers. Winners were: President Erika Dam, Vice President Cameron Jolly, Recording Secretary Alisia Leon, Corresponding Secretary Jade Vaughn, Treasurer Gisele Rioseco, and Historian Rikki Shea Gage.
Congratulations to all the candidates for their outstanding campaign speeches and posters. Thanks to the student volunteer poll workers and the council sponsor, Karen Sanchez.
