20 YEARS AGO

Florida Keys Memorial Hospital and dePoo Hospital got the Florida Legislature's approval to merge.

A car ran a red light at Mile Marker 99, hit another car, then continued on to the lot of Largo Honda and hit six more cars, one of which was pushed into the showroom window. The driver and his wife suffered only minor cuts and bruises.

50 YEARS AGO

The city was drying out after 7.77 inches of rain on the 20th flooded streets and drowned out vehicles and practically brought business to a standstill.
