Post-raid bong sales not obvious
State attorney: Underground sales not a high priority

Window-shopping on Duval Street these days holds the usual sights: beachwear, straw hats and raunchy T-shirts. Absent, however -- at least in the windows -- are the colorful glass pipes and bongs that used to be a matter of fact.

YOUR RIGHT WE HAVE TO LEGALIZE POT

We should change the law to Marijuana induced retardation! Florida Keys cops leave ransom note for pot, nab suspected grower MARATHON, Fla. -- (AP) -- Monroe County deputies say a ransom note left in place of seized marijuana plants lured out a suspected grower. According to a news release, detectives left a note with a phone number in place of the six large plants. The note read: ``Thanks for the grow! You want them back? Call for the price.'' Steven Alan Locasio called the number about 10 minutes later. Locasio offered $200 for the plants, and detectives agreed to meet him for an exchange. Locasio was arrested after he gave deputies the money. He has been booked into Monroe County jail on drug charges and was expected to appear in court Tuesday. It's unclear if he already has an attorney.

the guy who responded to the note

is there a charge for being excessivly stupid?

release all violent crimminals

let all the theives and violent crimminals out of prison to make room for all the non-violent pot smokers. jf

Lets send this BONG story to No. 1 rated FOX News network!!!

Once O'Reilly or Beck or Hannity or new players Stossel and Dobbs get a hand on it see hoe FAST the head shops go away and the world and tourists label Key West drug mecca of the US - and San Fran can put THAT in their pipe and ssssmmmmmooooooke it!!!!!!!!!!

Lets send this BONG story to Fox News - IT'S ON THE WAY DUDE

Let's see what happens now - they would LOVE the corruption that runs rampant on this BUBBA CONCH island. Where do we start?

Dude... What are you

Dude... What are you smoking??

Up In Smoke?

Good question -- sounds medicinal though.

Much better now that the

Much better now that the pipes and bongs are gone and you have windows full of knives and weapons instead, check out the 700 block of duvalp

Exactly. These are much

Exactly. These are much worse. Or the bums harrassing tourists at Southernmost Point or the beach. Key West's obsession with Marijuana and Bongs just does not make sense. I hope we see a change in focus on crimes that hurt others and our city.

Illegal or not, bongs that

Illegal or not, bongs that used to be in the windows are certainly less offensive than those "raunchy" tshirts that are still on display. Nice sense of priorities!

Does anyone really care

Does anyone really care about this???? Thank goodness we have a new DA who understands Key West is getting a reputation as a place that is NOT SAFE. We have tourists being mugged in broad daylight, purse snatchings, and bums completely taking over beaches. Have you been to Simonton Beach lately? It is in the heart of downtown and is disgusting and unsafe. Skip the bongs and focus on the increase in real crime. The Citizen is stupid to even investigate this.

I read somewhere that 87.98% of criminals are stoned/under the

influence when they commit their crimes!

No, I get so stoned I forget

to go out and commit crimes, another day wasted.

Huh?

There is a fact you can believe. You read "somewhere". You should have been a researcher, your sources are so compelling.

you must be blind

they are everywhere, along with other stuff.
