Lots in limbo for another year
Thousands of property owners remain on hold while lots reevaluated

Matt Reynolds received word last week that he will be issued a building permit for a Ramrod Key property he bought in hopes of building an investment home.

The approval did not come in time to avoid a pending sale of the property or to rescue the financing to build a home on the property, Reynolds said. The financing "is on the edge," he said.

I've heard the year excuse before......

In 2004 147 lots were reviewed by a special master for Tier errors. Some of my lots were deemed to be erroneously designated to Tier 1.....Guess what????? It's 2010 and they still have failed to change the original tier listing. This isn't over yet. This is and organized conspiracy to stop private property owners from building on legally platted lots in the Keys. The panel that reviews these changes are composed of local tree huggers and Curtis Kuger that with Hank Morgenstren have devised a way to milk thousands of dollars from property owners on the FEMA list…..Again the fox guarding the hen house……. Imagine that.

Don't you think the keys are over-developed already? When do we say NO MORE! YES,you have the right,BUT there must be a line drawn some where.

I realize you folks don't adhere to the U.S constitution but the 5th amendment says you must pay "Just Compensation" for these lots....Get your wallet out and pay for them.

Sorry pal. The Keys are overdeveloped enough. Since you can not build on the lots, they are worthless and that is what I will pay. Nothing. Call me a tree hugger or whatever you want, but I am glad the development is stopped so people can not destroy one of the few places left in Florida that is not a concrete nightmare.
