State attorney eyes bug board

Reviews unbid contracts, personal cell phones

The Monroe County State Attorney's Office is investigating whether Florida Keys Mosquito Control District officials violated bidding policies -- their own and the state's -- by granting a contract for electronic security equipment at its helicopter hangar and buying four vehicles without seeking competitive bids.

Joan Load Pappy is back to her old tricks. 13 years ago the Bug Disctrict was investigated by the Grand Jury, now Ward is going to hang these goofs out to dry!

Spoto told lies about the cell phones he GAVE to his wife and daughter in 2007. What he paid back was nothing to what he really owes if you check further back. The cell phone calls he made to his "friend" was really his girlfriend who he is now living with. She was his secretary at the bug board. All Spoto did was lie and lie and lie. The papers had it right. The board didn't have the balls to fire him but now we have a state attorney who just might get the job done by first filing charges against him. Keep digging, you will find more abuse by these Mosquito Control employees. They also use the bug boards P CARDS for personal purchases and always have. Do they pay them back? probably not for all the purchases they make. SPOTO: You threw your daughter under the bus and embarrassed her and your wife (now exwife). Now you are living with the woman who broke up your marriage by you fooling around. If she was your secretary and girlfriend, what did she cover up for you????????????????

not for Dengue Fever they didn't, those tested positive were for ANY flavivirus, not specifically dengue!!...why does everyone come on here making comments without ascertaining the facts prior to opening their mouths??

Does everyone in this County that is paid with tax dollars have that sense of entitlement that makes them feel that it is OK to steal from the taxpayers? No wonder the taxes are so high. Put them all in jail.
