Saunders is by far the best person for the job. Nobody is perfect. However, Mr. Saunders knows how to handle himself and conduct business on behalf of the people of Monroe County.

in the same manner in which he handled his own finances. He was all about spending money the city doesn't have, for things the city can't afford. That's how his home went into foreclosure. He treated it like an ATM machine, taking money out to live big, and didn't put anything in. Let's not forget he's 40+ years old apparently never had a job. Clearly he borrowed to live high, which is what he wanted the people to do for the grand palace City Hall he pushed. He also supported the PUBLIC approving a bond issue (i.e. debt) so he could pay the Spottswoods their profit up front for the unneeded marina on public lands. He also supported trying to illegally take bed tax monies for Spottswoods' marina, which won't happen, and for infrastructure improvements for the Spottswoods' convention center, which has never materialized. Are you all seeing a pattern here? As a member of the lodging industry, I can tell you that NO ONE in our industry supports McPherson's business decisions. He tried to run the city like he runs his personal business ... in the hole. Just imagine how much of our money he'd spend irresponsibly if he was in State office!

I don't believe it. This guy was so far out of touch as Mayor. Remember the water park and then there was the 19 story hotel at the airport. He actually thought he and his buddy Mario Di Gennaro could make it happen. Morgan's motives are personally driven. He's out of work and has properties in foreclosue. We all know he likes to party and Tallahassee would give him an opportunity to get away from Christine, the family and Key West. Look at the number of trips he made there as Mayor. Folks he's running for all the wrong reasons. It's time for Morgan to get a real job, if he's capable. Then maybe he can run for office for the right reasons. Morgan read the good book that you profess to believe in and take heed. Or maybe that's a front too !

... McPherson is dumb enough to think the "Conch" vote will get him elected, the same way that Conchs rallied around Acevedo... in other words, too ignorant to realize that Saunders is a Conch, too? And Ron Saunders is a good example of Conchs with smarts and integrity. Morgan, you ought to save your time and money... and maybe look for a job that you may have a chance of landing. Surely HTA would hire you.

seems to a casual observer that one or two folks seem to be posting most of the anti Morgan comments, over and over, to make it appear there are many speaking out. I have seen Ron do nothing for this county, maybe its time for a change, could it be worse?? Ron is as much a "Bubba" as Morgan, but as a non-Bubba I am not sure what difference that really makes, other than he (and Ron) have a long-term interest in the community and are not carpet baggers here to show the locals "how it is really done" in the real world. Lots of shrill voices in this little community, just negative and gutless backstabbers.
