FRANCIS J. NOEL

Francis Joseph Noel, 92, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at his residence in Key West, Fla.

He was born on Feb. 5, 1918, in New Orleans, La., to the late Charles A. and Madeleine (Christensen) Noel.

Francis arrived in Key West in 1940 with the U.S. Navy. He was a draftsman for the U.S. Civil Service. Francis also was a member of the St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Key West Old Coots lunch buddies.

He is a beloved father and grandfather, survived by his daughter, Anne Marie Noel of Key West; granddaughter, Michelle M. Jamardo of Key West; brothers-in-law Carlton Roberts of Tampa, Fla., and Richard T. Gaskin of Sebring, Fla.; nephews Paul and Gary Noel and niece Marilyn Noel Bossier, all of Louisiana; and special nephew Daniel K. Roberts of Palmetto Bay, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie (Roberts) Noel.

As per his wishes, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Key West.

Burial will be in the Key West City Cemetery.
