The race for the Monroe County School Board District 5 seat finds three candidates with divergent backgrounds hoping to uproot the woman who has served in that position for the past 16 years.
While incumbent Debra Walker said she has weathered the Acevedo storm and was part of the solution, her critics say the financial debacle happened on her watch and think it's time to...
"[Walker] clearly cannot balance a budget, with several years of poor fiscal management and poor judgment, which reduced the $12 million reserves down to around $4 million," he said. "[Martin and Swango] should be apologizing to their former students they failed, and not be seeking to bring their poor administrative talents to a wider Monroe student body."
Bradley's lack of experience with Monroe County schools is not a disadvantage, he said, but rather his strong suit. Calling himself "a fresh face with new blood," Bradley said he has not been "tainted" by the district's recent fiscal mismanagement.
Lets hope that Walker is beaten like a drum for her complicity by running cover for Randy and Monique & Co.
