Cowboy Bills Reloaded rallies to take slugfest

KEY WEST -- In a slugfest which featured 66 runs on 61 hits to include 10 home runs, two for grand slams, Cowboy Bills Reloaded rallied from a 10-run deficit to top Rusty Anchor 35-31 to highlight the Key West Men's Softball League last week at DeWitt Roberts Field.

Rusty Anchor built a 27-17 third inning tilt only to allow CB Reloaded to scored 15 in the top of the fourth and three more in the fifth to add some insurance which they would need to overcome Rusty Anchor's four-run rally in their final turn.

Miguel Menendez slugged a pair of home runs and two singles for seven RBI, Bobby Lowe smashed a grand slam and ripped three base hits sending five teammates home and Troy Curry was 4-for-5 with a double to lead Cowboy Bills Reloaded at the plate. Juanito Menendez sent one out of the park, doubled and singled for three RBI, Nick Snyder thumped a three-base hit and two base hits accounting for a trio of RBI, J.J. Fallon drove in four runs on three hits, Danny Ramirez was 3-for-3, Shane Curry slugged a two-bagger and singled for three RBI, J.P. Castro and Donny Barrios each singled twice and Doug Holmes walloped a two-run shot.

For Rusty Anchor, Walter Trujillo legged out an inside-the-park grand slam and singled three times for seven RBI, Junior Guieb homered, doubled and nailed a base hit sending six home and Hugo Valdez Jr. drove home five via a triple, double and two base hits. Daniel Morales hammered a two-base and two base hits, Carlos Arencibia singled three times, Humberto Rojas homered and thumped a three-base hit for three RBI, Willie Castillo hit a three-run shot and roped a base hit, Jonathan Rodriguez also went yard and singled, as Rocky Ramirez singled twice.

COWBOY BILLS 19, CLEAN RITE 13

Howie Schneider was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, Bobby Davila went yard, doubled and singled sending a pair home and Tony Alfonso (double) and James Robinson each slugged three hits pacing Cowboy Bills with the alloy sticks. Andy Mendez and Dale Bittner each homered and singled, Bobby Lopez doubled and singled and Eddie Griffiths smacked a pair of base hits.

Clean Rite's Pavel Noguera went yard and clubbed a pair of base hits, Miguel Vicente drove home four runs via a three-base hit, two-base hit and a single, Dwight Guillen hit a solo shot and singled and Ariel Herrera (double) and Chino Vergez each hoisted a pair of hits.

SIBONEY 25, ANN'S ALTERATIONS 4

Radier Gonzalez was 5-for-5 with a home run and triple for three RBI and Paul Sanchez doubled twice and singled twice to help Siboney fry up the win. Christian Hudson drove in three runs on a triple, two-base hit and a base hit, Eduardo Rodriguez doubled and singled twice, Jose Klepaski bashed a homer, double and a base hit, Raiko Caridad and Eric Hernandez each doubled and slugged a base hit and J.C. Edwards slammed a three-run homer.

Ann's Alterations' Kevin Domholdt and Tom Bishop each nailed a pair of hits and Marty Gregurich clubbed a solo home run.

TRUMAN AND WHITE CHEVRON 20, COWBOY BILLS 16

T&W scored 10 in the first and never looked back for the W. Brian Barrios went 5-for-6 with four RBI and Darnel Henderson went yard, doubled and singled twice for six RBI leading the gas house gang at the plate. John Baltzell (double) and Mark Garcia each nailed three hits and Harry Milliken, Ronnie Presley and Jeff Kurkowski each singled twice.

Cowboy Bills' Dale Bittner homered, tripled and singled twice for five RBI, Tony Alfonso went yard and walloped a trio of base hits, Bobby Lopez nailed a home run and two base hits, Andy Mendez banged two home runs and singled for four RBI as Juan Ayerdi and Javier Ferretti each singled twice.

RUSTY ANCHOR 27, ANN'S ALTERATIONS 12

Danny Difabio and Daniel Morales each slugged grand slam home runs giving Rusty Anchor more than enough firepower at the plate. Difabio hit a second homer and singled twice for six RBI, Lazaro DelValle was 4-for-5 with a double, Carlos Arencibia and Alex Vega each singled three times, Willie Castillo thumped a three-bagger and two singles, Junior Guieb drove home four via a home run and a base hit, Hugo Valdez (double) and Jonathan Rodriguez each hammered a pair of hits and Morales added a base hit to his grand slam.

Jamal Beveney drove in five on a homer and two singles, Shane Folendore tripled and singled twice, Andrew Bolton slugged a two-base hit and a two base hits and Kevin Domholdt singled twice.
