County Judge William Reagan Ptomey is up for reelection this year. He has held that seat since 1987. He is being challenged by Key West Attorney Demetrios Efstratious. Judge Ptomey's claim to fame here is that he threw the Ducks lawsuit out of court and cost the Taxpayers $8 Million to protect bubba patron Ed Swift. Judge David Audlin released Monique Aceveto without bail and then recused himself from the case because of his 'relationship' to the Aceveto family. Shortly thereafter Judge David Audlin released Randy Aceveto without bail and then again recused himself from the case because of his 'relationship' to the Aceveto family. [Perhaps he had forgotten his position several weeks earlier] Before winning an uncontested Circuit Court judgeship, attorney David Audlin was well paid by the City of Key West for his legal opinions on the City's lawless position in regard to the Ducks/Conch Train corruption. Those opinions cost his clients, the taxpayers of Key West, $8 million + litigation and costs. Cherry picked activist Judge David Audlin ruled absent fact or law and completely outside of the clear Florida law in a local adoption case, so that he could impose his political preferences on a state and community which by referendum and statute has clearly rejected his views. That case will cost the taxpayers millions as this activist judge's personal political pandering winds it way through the Florida courts. Regardless your opinion on the adoption case, it is not the place of judge to ignore the clear State Statute, particularly a law indemnified by statewide referendum within months Audlin's lawless ruling. In this corrupt little County of Monroe, taxpayers need and deserve an objective judiciary who will follow the law as written and protect our community - NOT jurists who are willing to just act as activist advocates for their friends and their special interests. Let's all remember and hope that the Honorable Judge David Audlin doesn't stand for re-election uncontested next time and this time we all show our appreciation of "DUCKS" Ptomey by electing Demetrios Efstratious.

From the start, Walker stone-walled, hindered and obstructed the investigations. Walker created alibis for those involved in these thefts and staunchly resisted finding out the ugly truth. She wanted to protect the criminal enterprize that she oversaw. Walker does not want them or herself consequented for the awful harm that they caused to the taxpayers and children.

Without Board members John Dick and Steve Pribramsky -- both of whom courageously took heat from other Board members for standing tall and seeking the truth wherever it led -- and prosecutor Dennis Ward, this whole matter might have been ignored. Their efforts should not be in vain.

What would the "pre-sentencing hearing" reveal that will now be kept under wraps? The Public Defender's complicity in this scam is mind boggling. Time to clean house!
