FKCC welcomes satellite campus director

Florida Keys Community College welcomed Susan Freeman as the new director of the Middle Keys Center in Marathon High School and Upper Keys Center in Coral Shores High School.

Freeman most recently was the director of academic support services for the University of South Florida's Venice Campus, where she was the lead administrator for a satellite site. Before that, she was a counselor/academic adviser and an instructor for the university's College of Education.

Freeman also has worked as an educator and athletics coach at Manatee Community College and in several school districts in Florida.

She has a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Florida, master's degrees in physical education from the University of Central Florida and sports management from Georgia Southern College, and a bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Georgia Southern College.

Freeman will split her time between the college's centers in Marathon and Coral Shores.

Pirate Wellness adds new massage therapist

Massage therapist Jennifer Arthur has joined Pirate Wellness Center.

Arthur attended Educating Hands School of Massage and is a state-licensed therapist. Before that, she worked as an office manager for a chiropractor and also has a medical billing background.

Cherrybon completes insurance courses

Sue Cherrybon of The Johnsons Insurance Agency has successfully completed the annual continuing education requirement of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.

To earn the designation, Cherrybon attended five courses covering all phases of the insurance business and passed five comprehensive examinations.

Cherrybon, a 35-year veteran of the insurance industry, has been a certified insurance counselor since 2002. She manages the company's Big Pine Key office.

TIB hires corporate security investigator

TIB Bank recently hired Pablo Mendez as its new corporate security investigator. He will work from the bank's Homestead operations center. During his professional career, he has worked with top financial institutions and consulting firms throughout the U.S. and Latin America and has participated in numerous forensic fraud and forensic audit investigations.
