SPCA takes over animal shelters

Final audit report on Middle Keys shelters expected next month

A nonprofit that operates the county's Lower Keys animal shelter will temporarily take over day-to-day operations of county shelters in Big Pine Key and Marathon on Wednesday, after the abrupt exit of the organization that previously managed the Middle Keys shelters.
