Raiders Rock Hurricanes, 36-0

TAVERNIER -- The Ransom Everglades Raiders football team visited Coral Shores High School Friday night and were not very kind to their hosts handing the Canes a 36-0 defeat.

The game started poorly for the Hurricanes' offense and the defense didn't fare much better after the Canes had an initial three-and-out stop of the Raiders. Things quickly declined from there. Ransom wasted no time scoring on a run play from the Canes 27-yard line at the 8:37 mark of the first quarter giving the Raiders held an early 7 -0 lead. The Raiders' next score came after a Canes fumble and a 31 yard scamper on second down to make it 14-0 at 7:39 of the first quarter.

The remainder of the game stayed the same for the Canes -- a weak performance on offense with the home team only crossing the 50-yard line twice. At the half, after three fumbles gave the Ransom squad good field position, Ransom led, 29-0

In the second half, the Raiders called off their attack and were content to run the ball, play a lot of reserves, and only pushed in one more touchdown in the third quarter.

Coral shores (0-1) travels to Key West (1-0) next Friday to meet the Conchs in a 7:30 p.m. game.
