MARILYN GOFF THOMPSON

Mrs. Marilyn Goff Thompson of Nashville, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital. Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010.

She was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Kennedy, Texas, to the late Percy and Hattie Martin Goff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic Thompson, in 1996 and a brother, Martin Goff. She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Lynn Gordon of Key West and Kathy Thompson of Nashville; two brothers, Bobby and Glynn; and a sister, Joyce, all of Texas; two grandchildren, Huntly Gordon of Franklin, Tenn., and Jennifer Nolden (Mark) of Chicago; four great-grandchildren, Lillian, Isabella and Ava Claire Gordon and Seth Nolden.

Marilyn, better known as "Nancy Lopez," "Red" and "Mimi," will be remembered for her sweet smile, her gift of gravity and her complete love of life.

She loved each woman as a daughter, each man as a son and each child as her own. She was a gracious chaperone, hostess and stable mother to many. She has forever made a big burgundy lipstick mark in this world.

Cheers to Heaven! You got a good one!
