


First State Bank recognizes employees
First State Bank of the Florida Keys Executive Vice President Bette Brown celebrated 15 years with the bank.
Brown joined the bank in 1995 as senior vice president/regional manager. She was promoted to executive vice president/retail market executive in 2000 and assumed her current position in 2005.
Brown is involved in several community organizations, including the Monroe County Workforce Coalition, Greater Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, Upper Keys Rotary, Business & Professional Women's Association and Mariners Hospital Foundation board. She has been named "Woman of the Year" five times in the Upper Keys People's Choice Awards.
Also at the bank, Merchant Services Representative Jane Cloutier was named Employee of the Quarter.
Cloutier was recognized by her managers and fellow employees for her initiative, proficiency, community service and positive attitude.
Cloutier attended Keene State College in New Hampshire.
Coldwell Banker Schmitt honors staff
Several Coldwell Banker Schmitt Real Estate Co. sales associates recently achieved milestone service anniversaries: Louis Paez, Key West, eight years; Fred Mullins, Key West, and Pat Barlow, Key Largo, seven years; Jane Basford, Lower Keys, five years.

Sloppy Joe's awards top employee
Sloppy Joe's recently presented the Jean Klausing Employee of the Month award to Kevin O'Brien.
O'Brien has been with the Duval Street bar for four years as a retail associate and was recognized for his outstanding performance and dedication to his work.
