Key West officials on Tuesday will revisit changes to the law that governs street performers and artists.
City commissioners will consider a proposal that would require performers and artists to carry $300,000 of liability insurance.
Additional changes being considered mandate the amount of space performers and artists must keep between themselves and others, and detail where on the sidewalk they can set up shop.
The new law also increases the cost of a street performer permit, and requires vendors to show a sales tax certificate.
In response to the proposed new rules, the artists and performers have united to form the Key West Artists and Street Performers Association, and are willing to work with the city to alleviate ongoing concerns without restricting them to extinction, said Dennis Walsh, also known as The Dirty Joke Guy.
The Key West City Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Old City Hall, 510 Greene St.
