John G. Montague, 56, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011. Born in Bainbridge, Md., on Oct. 9, 1954, he was a resident of Key West since 1959.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray John and Ruth Battjes Montague.

He graduated from Key West High School in 1972 and became a commercial fisherman.

He is survived by two daughters, Brittany and Georgianna; siblings, Judith Montague and Jerome Montague, both of Key West, Joan Montague Barry of Pensacola, Fla., Jaye Montague Brown (David) of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Gaylord Montague of Frankfort, Ky.; nieces and nephews, Natalie and Jerome Montague, April Brown, Dustin Brown, Dean Brown and Josie Zayszly; and many lifelong friends.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Reef Relief, P.O. Box 430, Key West, FL 33041. (http://www.reefrelief.org)
