7 have died in Key West powerboat races since ’85

A powerboat owner and his driver died Wednesday after the first of two nearly simultaneous crashes that closed the annual races for the day.

Big Thunder Marine owner Bob Morgan, who was the throttle man, and Jeff Tillman, both of Missouri, died after their powerboat caught air on a turn and flipped vertically during Super Boat International's 31st annual Key West World Ch...

God Bless the family and friends

My prayers go out to the family and friends.

I dont see any comments from

I dont see any comments from Mac? Did I miss something? This is a tragedy and my heart goes out ot the families.

He had a comment posted earlier

it must have been deleted

Actually, there was one from him last night.

It appears the Citizen removed it.

I'm glad.

This is not the time or place for his hateful nasty comments.

Some Considerations

First, my condolences to the family of each. They died doing something they loved and knew was dangerous. I don't think there is any critical comment that really could be fairly made in this situation, but of course Mac has to add something snide and flip. Sometime it is better to keep one's stupid mouth shut and not let the world know really how much of a clown one is.

Very sad

Big Thunder has been a part of the powerboat scene for many years. My condolences to the entire Big Thunder family.

I saw the crash from Mallory

I saw the crash from Mallory Square. The rescue team was on it within seconds but the boat seemed to start sinking as soon as it flipped. That along with the strong current in the harbor must of added some troubles. You could also see as the rescue boat sped by that they were doing chest compressions on one of the victims. My heart goes out to the friends and family of the victims.

May God...

Bless they're families and souls.

Mac

Ok Mac put your twist on this so we can all blame fantasy fest and the bars being open till 4am for this mishap.

Waiting for him to blame 'fat naked people', cruise ships, jet

skis, 'rusted bucket military ships', tourists, Conch Trains, scooters and all things that intrude on his Marlboro-filled world.

Or

me!!!!

what a sight

that must have been have for the folks watching from the OKR.
