


FLORENCE L. MAYBERRY
Florence L. Mayberry, 88, of Schnecksville, Pa., formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Feb. 16, 2012, in Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown, Pa.
Born in Rockville, Md., she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Stiles) Louthan. Florence attended American University. She was one of the first women Marines and served in World War II, where she met her husband, the late Lawrence E. Mayberry, who died in December 1988. She was a member of Beverly Heights Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, and worked as the church secretary for 35 years. Florence was an avid bird lover and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
She is survived by her son, Eugene R. Mayberry and his wife, Patrice Ann of Slatington, Pa.; grandchildren, Robin E., Ryan E. and Ashley L. Mayberry; sisters, Mary Lou Brown of Baltimore, and Danielle Chapman of Washington, D.C.
She was preceded in death by her son, Leslie W. Mayberry, in September 2004.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Harding Funeral Home in Slatington is in charge of arrangements. In Florence's memory, donations may be made to National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St., New York, N.Y. 10014.
