Aqueduct recognized

Pete Tyson, safety and training manager at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, recently accepted the Utility of the Year award from the Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association.

The water utility received the award in recognition of its professionalism, dedication and working relationships with municipal, county, state and federal agencies, according to a press release from the utility.

First State Bank honored

First State Bank of the Florida Keys received a Community Bank Award from the American Bankers Association in recognition of the innovative and creative differences it makes in the community, according to a press release from the bank.

Recognition is given to institutions and teams, rather than individuals, for their collective positive impact.

So far this year, the bank has provided more than 180 employee volunteers to local civic and nonprofit organizations in addition to cash and in-kind donations to charities and business-stimulating events.

Marshall, McCarthy celebrate 15 years

First State Bank of the Florida Keys congratulates Patti Marshall and Lisa McCarthy on their 15th year with the bank.

Marshall is the Tradewinds branch manager and customer service officer. She has more than 20 years of banking experience and is an active member of the Upper Keys community.

She serves on the Florida Keys Down's Syndrome Association board, Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys and the Key Largo Rotary Club.

McCarthy is assistant branch manager at the Old Town office in Key West.

She has an associate degree in nursing from Kent State University. She is an active member of Keys Chorale and lives in Key West.

Butler joins JANGEORGe

Debra Butler, a custom cabinet designer specializing in kitchen, bath, home office and storage solutions, recently joined the design team of JANGEORGe.

Butler began sharing her talents at The Home Depot in Key West, where she became an award-winning designer and top salesperson. She later launched All Out Designs, a home design and consulting business and is now collaborating with JANGEORGe, an interior design store on Southard Street.
