MALCOLM PIKE

NOV. 26, 1934-MARCH 16, 2012

MALCOLM PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT HIS HOME.

HE WAS SURROUNDED BY HIS FAMILY AND JOINED IN SPIRIT WITH THOSE WHO LOVED HIM.

MALCOLM WAS BORN IN SWINDON, ENGLAND. HE MARRIED "FAYE LOVE" IN 1946. A MARRIAGE THAT EMBELLISHED SOME 55 YEARS. HE SPENT FOUR YEARS IN THE BRITISH ARMY. SERVING JUNGLE PATROL IN EAST AFRICA.

IN THE EARLY '60S, HE MOVED THE FAMILY TO THE SOUTHERN BAHAMAS, WHERE HE WAS AN AQUEDUCT ENGINEER, PROVIDING WATER FOR THE ISLANDS.

IN THE LATE '70S, HE MOVED TO KEY WEST, WHERE HE SETTLED, WORKING AS A BUILDING CONTRACTOR. HE LOVED KEY WEST AND KEY WEST LOVED HIM.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, FAYE; BROTHERS, JOHN, GEORGE AND PETER PIKE. HE HAS TWO CHILDREN, PETER PIKE, AND HIS DAUGHTER, SHERRY-LEE HAVIS OF BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA.

HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, JEANETTE PIKE; AND HIS TWO GRANDCHILDREN, TREVOR AND SARAH PIKE.

FOR THOSE WHO KNEW MALCOLM, HE WAS A MAN WHO CHERISHED LIFE. HE PURSUED EVERY DAY WITH SPIRIT AND VIGOR.

HE ALWAYS GREETED YOU WITH A SMILE AND HIS CHARISMATIC PERSONALITY. HE LIVED LIFE AS AN ADVENTURE. THE WAY LIFE IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIVED.

HE TOUCHED THE HEARTS OF MANY, ALWAYS WITH THE GIFT OF GIVING. HE KNEW YOU HAD TO GIVE IT AWAY IN ORDER TO RECEIVE. WE WILL ALL MISS HIM DEARLY.

WE MAY HAVE LOST A HERO, BUT WE ARE COMFORTED KNOWING THAT HEAVEN HAS ACCEPTED A SPECIAL ANGEL.

A FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11 A.M. SATURDAY, MARCH 24, 2012, AT BASILICA ST. MARY STAR OF THE SEA, KEY WEST, FLA. A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE WILL FOLLOW AT 1 P.M. AT THE RUSTY ANCHOR.
