Sloppy Joe's honors Pierre
Sloppy Joe's recently presented the Jean Klausing Employee of the Month Award to Jolicoeur Pierre.
Pierre has been with Sloppy Joe's for seven years as part of the kitchen staff and was recognized for his outstanding performance and dedication to his work.
Hospital honors associates
Lower Keys Medical Center recently announced its February Getting 2 Great associate award winners.
Tarek Al-Bataa, Simon Torres and Misti Sellers are continually recognized by patients, exceed expectations and model the "Getting 2 Great" guiding principles of servant leadership, never settling and always doing the right thing, according to a press release from the hospital.
Al-Bataa works in Information Services and ensures that the hospital staff has the electronic tools it needs. His upbeat attitude and easygoing manner always seem to relax the most frustrating of situations, the release states.
Torres, a registered nurse, has an uncanny ability to transform challenges into opportunities, the release states. He is quick to help a co-worker and is always ready to serve his patients. His peers note that his clinical skills are excellent and that his bedside manner is impeccable.
Sellers works behind the scenes in the laboratory department and quietly does her job in the most professional manner, the release says. She is noted by her coworkers as being approachable, knowledgeable and timely in all her endeavors. Under stress, Sellers always exhibits a calm demeanor to ensure the job gets done, the release states. She also routinely volunteers to work extra shifts when necessary to meet patient demands in the laboratory.
Brylske honored for diving
Alex Brylske, a marine science instructor and dive research program coordinator at Florida Keys Community College, recently was recognized as a dive industry legend by Divers Alert Network.
Brylske, of Summerland Key, received the 2012 DAN/Rolex Diver of the Year Award for his contributions to dive safety and education. The honor was bestowed March 24 during the Beneath the Sea dive show in Secaucus, N.J.
