Residents against altered bugs; commission finally accepts school building

Key West city commissioners heard emotional pleas against releasing genetically altered mosquitoes, and unanimously accepted the Glynn Archer building from the Monroe County School District in a well-attended meeting Tuesday night.

In return for the building, the School District will be granted city-owned property on Stock Island.
