Spray alert for May 2

The Florida Keys Mosquito Control District will conduct aerial spraying from 7 to 10 this morning over most of Key West, weather permitting.

Helicopters will spread bacillus thuringiensis israelenis, or BTI, which is an environment-friendly, nontoxic larvicide harmless to humans and wildlife, but deadly to mosquitoes.

Might it Be Too hard To Pick Up A Phone?

So the island of Key West is notified by their Wednesday morning paper as to why the helicopters were low overhead Wednesday morning. No advance notice on Tuesday. That would have been too hard to plan a week in advance.

We need new members for the Mosquito Control Board, because current members cannot execute a simple phone call to the Key West Citizen days in advance and follow that up with emails or faxes.

Timing

Wouldn't it make more sense to advertise this the day BEFORE the spraying?
