Spray alert for May 19

The Florida Keys Mosquito Control District will conduct aerial spraying from 6:30 to 9:30 this morning over Key West, weather permitting.

Helicopters will spread bacillus thuringiensis israelenis, or BTI, which is an environment-friendly, nontoxic larvicide harmless to humans and wildlife, but deadly to mosquitoes.
