


CONSUELO A. GONZALEZ
Consuelo A. Gonzalez, 93, of Key West, Fla., passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at her residence in Key West.
She was born on May 13, 1919, in Cuba to the late Juan and Matilde (Lincheta) Sibila. Consuelo came to Key West in 1980 from Matanzas, Cuba. She was a grade-school teacher in Cuba for 20 years. She was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea.
Consuelo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and mother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roque A. Gonzalez; and two brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are her sons, Roque A. (Zorilda) Gonzalez of Miami, Nestor A. (Maria) Gonzalez of Key West and Jesus (Asta) Gonzalez of Fort Myers, Fla.; her daughter, Elizabeth B. Gonzalez of Key West; her grandchildren, Lili (Rogelio) Gonzalez Wong, Yamili (Al) Adams, Jesus Gonzalez, Craig Roque Gonzalez, Ernest Sandovius, Cesar Fernandez and Luz (Jose) Marina Fuentes; and her great-grandchildren, Adrian, Isabella, Marcus and Sarah-Sophia. Also surviving are numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea. Burial was in the Key West City Cemetery.
Dean-Lopez Funeral Home was in charge of all funeral arrangements.
