Vitas' contract OK'd

The authority to manage the city of Key West will be officially transferred from City Manager Jim Scholl to his replacement, Bob Vitas, after midnight on July 28, when he will begin earning his $180,000 annual salary.

I watched the Commission meeting live on tv last night

and was struck by how many of the letters read concerning the boat issue sounded exactly the same. Wording , sentence structure, all sounded as if one person had authored them. Are there any checks in place to assure these submitted letters are actually valid ? Even the Citizen calls and verifies the source of an editorial. What really suprised me was when Rossi voted against the change in ordinance to allow boats. Seems he doesn't support the wishes of the people of his district, he must be counting on no one running against him again.
