Old Town post office privatizes parking

Paid parking at Key West's Old Town post office lot went into effect Monday, ending several years of widespread but unauthorized use at night, which sometimes resulted in towing of automobiles.

The U.S. Postal Service's contract with entrepreneur Steve Walker, who operates two other Key West parking areas, also puts an end to authorized free parking for patrons of the nearby...

what a rip off

The damn parking should be free. After all it is the taxpayers that bail out the post office. So who now makes the money from the parking....But sure glad the sleezy tow companies are out of the picture

While I agree with you, it is evidently private property.

If I'm not mistaken, Spottswoods have their sticky fingers in this. I don't know if they own the post office or just the land it sits on, but I do know they're involved.

Public Property....


This is wrong, plain and simple.
There should be a time limit during business hours. Shame to all who profit from this...
