Bight hotel, brewery on city agenda

Two major developments affecting the Key West waterfront will come before the City Commission for approval Tuesday, one a proposed hotel at Key West Bight and the other a brewery and rooftop restaurant in what was once the Waterfront Market.

Discussion of variances requested by developer Pritam Singh for his 96-room Harborside Hotel likely will include questions about hotel...

What will happen to the

What will happen to the little shops on Lazy Way Lane?

Singh is concerned about development?

Pritnam Singh is complaining about the brewery? Is that because it might compete with his plan for the world's first Margaritaville Resort? His plan includes bars, restaurants and a huge party room on his property. Where are his sound conrols? This is going to be awful for us neighbors.

Noise concerns??

Neighbors are concerned about rooftop music that will end at 10 PM? Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't this property located right next to Schooners Wharf?? Not a valid concern... Let them complete their project and open their doors.

Brewery's live music

I can't help but laugh when I see people complaining about live music at the proposed brewery. They are planing on having acoustic music which each table has it's own speaker and volume adjustment. With this in mind, if you are sitting at one table and turn off the speaker, how loud do you think the table next to you is going to be? Not too loud! Certainly nothing that would effect a neighborhood a block away! Additionally, right next door to the proposed brewery is Schooner Wharf on one side and Turtle Kraals on the other, both of which host live full electric bands, drums, bass, electric guitars and all, yet these people are worried about acoustic music, where the volume at one table doesn't disturb the table right next to them? They can't really be serious, can they?

No more outdoor live music

The repurposing of the old Waterfront into a brewery/restaurant is fine, but there doesn't need to be live, amplified music on the roof. This is bordering a residential neighborhood. The commission has done enough, through the years, to make Old Town living nearly impossible. People who live in historic wooden structures pay a tremendous price to maintain their homes, which are constantly recognized by tourists as one of Key West's most attractive draws. The commission should finally acknowledge these long-ignored residents with a vote that will help them to maintain some quality of life.

So sad

Key West will be sinking due to the weight of it's own greed. There is NO MORE FREAKING ROOM to put people.
