So far, polite School Board race
Two political newcomers want 20-year incumbent's District 2 seat

The fight for the School Board District 2 seat has remained a subdued affair, as the board's longest-serving incumbent, Andy Griffiths, faces two challengers who have never held office, Yvette Mira-Talbott and Howard Hubbard.

However polite the public debate has unfolded, at its heart the argument comes down to experience versus new blood -- just without any personal attack...

Lame article

What a lame article. How are the candidates going to fix the "mess"?

One should drop out. With

One should drop out. With the Anti Andy vote split her just might serve again. It would be nice if he had some dignity and just retired.

School Board

What a pleasure to see 3 classy candidates running for the same seat, now stick to the issues and let the voters decide the winner.

Please Clarify - Does everyone vote for every member?

Does everyone vote for every member? Or is it based upon what district you live in? I heard that it doesn't matter where you live and that you can vote for all of the seats up for election. If that is truly the case, most people are unaware of this-a story should be run if so. Thanks!

Griffiths Brings Nothing To The Table--He Is The Problem...

Twenty years of Griffiths' destructive action on the Board, has brought our School District near the brink of extinction. We cannot afford one more day of this individual anywhere near the educational decisions that are being made for our Children.

Griffiths wants us to forget his horrible record

This is the guy who wanted Monique to have house arrest, he voted for every tax increase that came along and every deficit spending budget Randy put forward, wasting $12M of reserves. He voted for Marathon Manor sticking taxpayer's with an $8M boondoggle. Andy says he couldn't predict the real estate market crash though he seems to have done just fine himself. His opponents don't need to get nasty but they need to point out Griffith's horrible judgement that has cost taxpayer's, teachers and kids of Monroe county. I hear it everyday, anyone but Andy.

Then I read the list of donors...

I liked the rheoric I was hearing from Talbott, until I read the list of people who are supporting her. Toppino, Halpern, Lockwood and Klitenick. Those are hardly names that I would associate with "new" or "fresh" They are attached to some of the shadiest, backroom, bubba deals of the last three decades.

Can you expound

Rabbi Flanagan Can you expound on the Toppino, Halpern, Lockwood and Klitenick deals? You have me wondering.
