Agency nixes Peary Court density
South Florida Regional Planning Council recommends state reject Key West plan

Key West's zoning designation for the star-crossed former military housing development at Peary Court has been given a thumbs-down by a regional planning board, which ruled that the city's zoning proposal would allow too many apartments per acre on the site.

But city officials say the decision by the South Florida Regional Planning Council was based on incomplete information...

Mathematical Sleight of Hand

Forty-eight units is 30 percent of 160. That means that 48 out of 160 must be affordable. It doesn't mean build 48 EXTRA units. Then the total number of units would be 208. In that case the affordable units only represent 23 percent of the total.

increased density would ruin a good neighborhood and be lousy for everyone...just look at duck ave and everything that pritum has ever built. Never is there enough parking at his developments
