Annual remembrance of writerbrings bearded 'Papas' aplenty

Key West was but one tile in the mosaic of author and adventurist Ernest Hemingway's life, but a prominent one at that. So through Tuesday the Hemingway connection is being celebrated with contests and other events honoring the life and times of the man some called "Papa," ranging from literary to ludicrous, with Key West's Hemingway Days.

I've never understood the thinking behind these 'look-alikes'.

Anyone who knows anything about Hemingway and his life in Key West knows he did NOT look like any of these chubby white-headed bearded guys when he lived in Key West.
