Candidates square off at forum
Republican pledges support for medical marijuana, reproductive choice

The two candidates vying for the Florida House District 120 seat took turns Monday night espousing support for gay rights, including the right to marry and adopt babies.

One spoke up for the value of legalizing medical marijuana in Florida, a conservative Republican-led bastion in the deepest South.

"As a pastor and member of the community, I've walked a...

Marijuana, Gay Abortion and Convicted Criminal Voting Rights....

Did anyone tell the panelists that the candidates are Republican? Where was the government official, the economists and the patriot?

And, these questions help the voters how?

What can you expect from a mostly gay panel interviewing a conservative slate of candidates. No questions about any of the real issues facing District 120. We northern folk just sit back and laugh. The panelists forgot to ask them 1) If they plan to attend Fantasy Fest, 2) If they would be in favor of new luxury tax and 3) whether they will sponsor a bill opposing gay marriage. Hilarious forum.

Legalize cannabis in Florida

I'm a lifelong Florida native and politically to the Right of Genghis Khan. That being said, of course Cannabis should be legalized. The reasons for criminalization, 80-90 years ago, was racist, just as open container laws, and gun laws, were/are racist in origin. The original laws were aimed at the Black, American Indian, and Latin populations. The GOP needs to realize this and move away from using the police power of the state to force their social and political mores upon others. Good fortune to the Republican candidate who helps turn back nearly a century of Democrat Party racism in the South.

Some Choice - Why Are These Progressive Liberals On The GOP Line

Anyone but the gun grabbing RINO McPhatson

We still live with so much of his legacy

Even endorsing medical marijuana won't get

McPherson elected, he must be hoping we smoke enough to forget what a bad Mayor he was. I recall him being rude, and connected to "the gang of 3" and thier attempts to scam the taxpayers. His actions at A+B lobster house and subsequent ejection says volumes. btw, for kudos for Gene Smith for throwing those guys out.

I shudder every time I think of McPhat and the Gang of 3. It

was a dark time in our history. And of course, let's not forget how he stood up for the Acevedo criminals.

McP is supposedly a "preacher" who doesn't have a church, a realtor who's never sold a property, and he's never had a real job in his life. He made nothing but bad financial decisions personally and for the city of Key West, and his own homes were in foreclosure. Once the developers went broke, no one was paying him under the table anymore.

I find it laughable that this waste of oxygen would run for office. Maybe he could get a real job at Sears alongside his buddy Randy Acevedo.

McPhat and gang of 3?

The Barroso's, Acevedo's and Estenoz's. A Political Disaster!
