Porter signs contract
$150K, no merit pay for new schools chief

Incoming Schools Superintendent Mark Porter on Tuesday agreed to a three-year contract with the Monroe County School Board that guarantees him $150,000 in salary for the first year, but no chance for performance pay.

Hope for vast improvements in our school district. Our teachers and students deserve better!

I wish Mr. Porter the best. Hopefully he has the tenacity to clean house, all of administration needs to be reviewed and most dismissed at both the district and school level.
