Wesley House Summer Jam soon

Wesley House Family Services' 3rd Annual Summer Jam fundraiser will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Key West Harbour marina, 6000 Peninsula Ave., Stock Island.

It will feature The Doerfels as well as the Howard Livingston and Mile Marker 24 band. An authentic Cuban pig roast and buffet is included in the ticket price.

Patrons also may come by boat and dock at the marina; call to reserve a spot.

Tickets are $49 for adults and $24 for children age 4 to 12; under 3 are free. Buy them online at www.keystix.com.

If the event is not sold out, tickets also will be available at the door.

Last year's Summer Jam netted over $27,000 for Wesley House, according to a press release.

Cruise ship presentation

The Key West Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a "Cruise Ship Industry Presentation, Information and Education" town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Westin Key West Resort and Marina, 245 Front St.

Jennifer Hulse, co-chair of the chamber Cruise Ship Committee, will be the speaker.

The meeting is open to the public and all businesses.

Early voting picnics Saturday

"Early Vote Picnics" will be held Saturday at the five early voting locations in Monroe County.

They are to feature free food and beverages.

Those held at the Supervisor of Elections offices will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the sites:

• 530 Whitehead St., Key West

• 490 63rd St., Marathon

• The Murray Nelson Center, Mile Marker 102, Key Largo

They also will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at two public library branches:

• Big Pine Key library in the Winn-Dixie Plaza

• Islamorada library, Mile Marker 87
