Says rival candidatefor county clerk misused CPA title

Matt Gardi, one of four Republican Clerk of Court candidates vying to win Tuesday's primary, has a political background in Burlington, Vt., where he was a city councilman for a few years in the late 1990s.

CANDIDATES LACK MORALS

Well Gardy or Gardi, whatever you want to call yourself, it seems like you have joined the ranks of moralless candidates. You, Griffiths, and Gage are all slinging mud against your opponents because you know none of you can win any other way. It must have something to do with each of your names starting with "G". Each of you three are lacking the high morals this county needs in candidates and voters are smart enought to vote against each of you.

You have missed that Gardi and Gutierrez are the ones ones in cahoots and without morals. It does keep your "G" theory going though.

REALLY? This is the best you can come up with? An "I" for a "y"? Do yourselves a favor and dig a little deeper, what you will find is a man of character,integrity and honesty something this county is clearly lacking.

Wow, so our intrepid newspaper lets him get away with that? How hard would it be to call someone in Burlington to get the real scoop on this guy?? I suppose this lame and obviously contrived explanation will in itself damage his credibility (just like Talbot's response to why she didn't vote) but why can't this paper do a better job informing the electorate? Background and character matter. How about an article on his attorney's background? She's a candidate, too, but at least we know her real name (from her MCSO booking info). PS, my Italian ancestors want him to change his name back

So Matt you want to be in charge of the county's finances, yet you can't even pay your own bills....... That is a stretch no reasonable person would make.... After all the years of your nasty rumors and inaccurate conspriracy theories, how does it feel to have negative things printed about you. Unlike the crap you print, these allegations are TRUE. Fradulent Mortgage?

Let me see if I have this correct. Matt admits to getting a mortgage. Matt admits that he stopped making his payments. The bank then initiates foreclosure proceedings on the property. AND, drum roll please,,,,, now someone else should go to jail. That makes perfect sense. Or not. Or does it go like this, Matt fails to live up to his word to pay his mortgage and now he wants to blame someone else. So he comes up with a made up villian and some legal rationale to prolong the process. Now he is the victim. We should all feel sorry for poor Matt. Got thrown out on the street for not paying his bills when he reasonably could do so. My gosh, that tugs at the heart. Poor guy can't even rent the apartment because of the bank foreclosing. That would be like a real hardship, IF he was paying his mortgage....

Fraudulent Common Practice

Matt is correct in his reporting about what happened to him concerning his mortgage. You might want to do some research on the subject because it became common practice for mortgage companies to advise customers to stop making their payments to get a short sale approved, or even to get the company to talk to them. It even happened in thousands of cases that the company then took advantage of the situation they advised their customer to do to file for foreclosure.
