Navy jet runs off runway

Navy officials are investigating an incident in which a fighter jet ran off a runway Thursday at Boca Chica Field, coming to a stop in an adjacent wooded area.

The pilot of the F-5N Tiger II fighter jet was uninjured, said Naval Air Station Key West spokeswoman Trice Denny.

The extent of damage to the jet had not been determined Friday.
