Transparency and clean government were brought to this county by Dennis Ward and his assembled team of Experts. Democrates voted him out in the primary. Some of them brag about getting rid of him because he enforced the law across the boards. We will pay dearly for this mistake. There will come a day in the not too distant future, when we will cry out for an individual of Ward's caliber.

I am a county employee and I would just like to say how sorry I am to all the residents of Monroe County for the crimes and misadventures of my fellow employees. A few months back, the County Administrator had spoken on 'US 1 Radio's Morning News Magazine' regarding the possibility that around some 25 county employees were criminals and that he was going to hunt them down and bring them to justice. Well, was he attempting to divert attention from himself, like he said this morning on the radio that Lisa Druckemiller was doing by 'throwing people under the bus' when she quoted him as saying to "make it happen" after he supposedly put two $100. bills on her desk to get iPhones for his children [as described in the SAO investigator's report]??? Well, only those two will ever know who is not being truthful here. I hope that all guilty employees will do the right thing by stepping-up and taking responsibility for their ignorance so that we can move forward in restoring public trust. Just so there is no mystery here, my name is Jim Crane and I remain steadfastly proud and ever so grateful to be a 'public servant' as well as being very fortunate to live in a country where we can speak freely and express our viewpoint without fear of reprisals!

I'm both surprised and disappointed in some of the people whose names appear here; they had to have known this was not a legitimate way of doing business. Some role models you are.

The mice were named "Sniff" (Ward) & "Scurry" (Wilson); the little people were "Hem" (Druckenmiller) and "Haw" (Gastesi). It is time to send "Rodent" Gastesi and the others to join Monique in the rat hole to the north.

What were all these people thinking when they were buying electronics for a fraction of the retail value? Underlying the questions of individual innocence or guilt, there appears to be an almost outrageous sense of entitlement and personal justification from those feeding at the public trough, not to mention the total disregard for the taxpayer’s dollar. Perhaps its time to task our elected officials to clean up this mess and stop protecting select employees and associates from abusing the “public trust”, which has become a term, in and of itself, a laughable oxymoron in a public workplace punctuated with greed and self-gratification. When you steal from the taxpayer, you’re stealing from your neighbor –and that’s not okay.
