Cruise ships

The public has denounced the cruise ships, the public majority wish there were no cruise ships. Who is representing us? Who is putting money into the pockets of our chamber leaders? Just follow the money.

Great Job Chamber

The Chamber did a great job with their Cruise Ship Presentation last night. There has been a lot of confusion regarding the subject and everyone who attended came away with a clear understanding of the facts!

Thanks.

Thanks, Virginia.

Chamber members should STOP PAYING CHAMBER DUES now. Save your money and we locals will support you with our business.

It was FUD and propaganda.

It was FUD and propaganda. You obviously bought into it. They should have called the presentation "Dredge the channel or die". A bunch of made up guesses from industry insiders and people who benefit from these ships. Not a single word about all the opposing views regarding the future of the industry and the FACT that there will always be medium sized ships. This place is turning into a crime ridden cesspool anyway. Maybe cruise ships are all we will have left.

Like Mosquito-Spraying notice

Announcing the event on the day of the event is like telling people that the airplanes that woke them earlier that day were spraying for mosquitos.

Apparently, even The Citizen couldn't find anyone to attend, because there is no coverage in Friday's paper.

Why even mention public

Why even mention public meeting, it's all about the select few figuring a way to benefit from a newly devised rule or law. Wait, maybe they can figure out a new configuration to the old navy land on the waterfront to WHORE away some more public property to spottswood & company. Disgusting.

Chamber needs to be run out of town.

The KW Chamber of Commerce has no business being in business. They have done nothing but detract from the quality of life for our year-round residents.

They have done nothing to stop the malignant growth of greedy, crooked T-shirt shops, street hawkers and the overall appearance of our Old Town business area.

Their only objective is the continued attraction of the lowest tourist element available-- Carnival cruises.

The Chamber president has tried to make City Charter changes designed to eliminate the voice of the people from major municipal legislation and give that power to the bubba element on the city commission.

Panico and the Chamber need to go. We don't need them. We don't want them. And we don't want cruise ships.

Chamber members should stop paying dues to this economic dinosaur. Your local customers will appreciate it and show it with their business.

It's too bad there's so much else going on...

Citizen needs to make sure and give good coverage. People need to know all the facts.

what's there to talk about?

what's there to talk about? the people of key west have overwhelmingly rejected it and want the cruise ships that come in now to go away.

Wish

Wish I would have heard about this presentation a few days ago. Could have made arrangements to attend. Guess I missed the memo.

I don't think there was a memo

Too busy putting up hurricane shutters today. I'm ready for bed. Wish the Chamber of Commerce would alert us to these meetings about 72 hours in advance instead of 12 hours in advance.

Why is this even happening ?

I wish I had been allowed to vote against Rossi, he is my districts rep but only reps his Bar. When there is no oppossing candidate , there should be a box you check that says "NO CONFIDENCE" .
