'It's just too early to call right now'
Tropical Storm Isaac's track up in the air

Tropical Storm Isaac continued its disorganized spin westward Thursday as forecasters worked to locate the storm's center in the hopes of improving projection models that have possible 79 mph winds impacting the Florida Keys by Monday morning.

Forecasters hope to have firmer projections of the storm's path today as uncertainty remains regarding how long Isaac hovers over...

We are directly in the

We are directly in the middle of the cone. What are these fools waiting for? Get the tourists out of here so working people can care for Thier families and property! We should just move Panicho into the Mayors office. It is obvious she is calling the shots.

Still dragging thier feet

How many projections showing a direct path over the Keys does the City and County need before they do something ? Ostrichs have the same common sense.

Blame the Chamber.

Anyone who's lived here longer than a decade knows the potential for intensification of this storm. And we're right in the center of the cone. While the NHC is not very effective at storm intensity, they're right around 90 percent on tracking. It's going to hit Key West.

But the Key West Chamber of Commerce-- an economic dinosaur-- pressures the emergency management people to ignore all that in favor of the almighty tourist dollar.

It's definitely time that Chamber members stop paying dues to Panico and her Chamber of Horrors-- the people who bring us low-class Carnival cruise ships and tacky T-shirt shops.

Chamber members-- STOP PAYING DUES TO THE CHAMBER. Locals will support you with their business in exchange for the improved quality of life.

Conchs calmly know better...

It's going to rain and the wind will blow enough to remove the old branches. Otherwise what would you like them to do? Run off our bread and butter beloved tourists, who wish to spend their weekend here? Most of them will be home by Sunday night, and the worst the rest will suffer is maybe a power outage and some small flooding...I mean, are you even from the Keys?

Sorry, pal...

No way out of the Keys 'til Tuesday.

Oh really?

Why don't you go put a bag over your negative brain and go sit in the corner.

Finally

someone with common sense! So sad the newbs eat up all the media hype and play Chicken Little.

???

Have you not been watching the reports? Every hour, Issacs track shifts more and more west. So far, it has done NOTHING the model predictions have said it would.

No, they either weren't here for Andrew, and the other storms we

have had over the years or just don't learn .If this storm go west of us , then we will have some serious problems. No need to panic but some prudent preparation is order.
