3 Monroe County shelters OPEN at 2 p.m. today:

• Key West High School, 2100 Flagler Ave.

• Stanley Switlik Elementary, 3400 Overseas Highway, Marathon

• Coral Shores High School, 89901 Overseas Highway, Tavernier

Live-aboard, mobile home and low-lying area residents are encouraged to ride out the storm in shelters.

No supplies are available there, county officials said. Bring bedding, food, medicine, etc. No alcohol allowed. Shelters are pet-friendly, but will place animals away from people.
