Lupino finishes third at Key Biscayne event

KEY LARGO -- A Key Largo girl came in third place in her first-ever sprint triathlon last month.

Maddie Lupino, 18, daughter of Jim and Diane Lupino, competed in the third race of the Key Biscayne Triathlon Trilogy on Aug. 19. She placed third in her age bracket, 15-20 years.

The sprint triathlon offers shorter distances than other triathlons.
